This page explains how you can delete certain data associated with your use of American Sweets (operated by American Confectioners Ltd) without closing your account — for example clearing saved shopping information or resetting optional profile data in our website, iOS app, or Android app.

Delete data from the app

If your app version includes a dedicated “delete data” or “clear my data” flow:

  1. Open the American Sweets app.
  2. Go to Account or Profile.
  3. Open Privacy & data (or Manage data).
  4. Choose Delete stored data / Clear my data (wording may vary by version).
  5. Confirm when prompted.

This is intended to remove optional or locally emphasised data (see below) while you remain signed in or can sign in again with the same credentials.

Delete data from the website

Signed-in customers on our website can often remove individual saved items (for example saved addresses or wishlists) from My account. Where a bulk “clear data” option exists, it will be under Account → Privacy & data (or similar).

If you need a specific category erased and do not see a control, email us (see Need help?) with “Data deletion request” in the subject line and describe what you want removed.

What data is typically deleted

Depending on the feature, confirming “delete data” may remove or reset categories such as:

  • Saved delivery addresses and optional profile fields you added after registration.
  • Wishlists, favourites, or saved baskets tied to your account.
  • In-app preferences (for example notification topics or display choices) stored with your profile.
  • Cached catalog or image data stored on the device for performance (where the app offers a clear-cache action as part of this flow).

Some information may be removed from what you see in the app or site immediately, while backend systems update on a short delay.

What data is usually kept

  • Your account remains so you can keep shopping; core sign-in identifiers (such as email or Apple/Google sign-in linkage) usually stay unless you separately change or remove them in account settings.
  • Records of completed orders may still exist for legal, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, shipping, and customer-support reasons, as described in our Privacy Policy. A “delete data” action does not always erase those records in full.
  • Aggregated or de-identified analytics that do not identify you personally.

Retention and backups

After you confirm deletion, data is removed from active systems used to provide the Services. Residual copies may exist for a limited time in encrypted backups and operational logs; those copies are overwritten or expired according to our retention schedules and security practices outlined in the Privacy Policy.
